Keeping it safe until it reaches a child is the other half. Yesterday, a handover ceremony was held at the National Centre for Maternal and Child Health to celebrate Luxembourg’s donation of vital vaccine cold chain equipment made in Luxembourg to Lao PDR. This milestone builds on Luxembourg’s earlier contribution for essential vaccines in partnership with UNICEF and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. Together, these investments ensure not only the supply of vaccines but also their safe journey to children across the country. The new equipment includes over 3,000 essential cold chain components, such as refrigerators, freezers, monitoring devices, and mobile transport units, strengthening vaccine storage and delivery from central to village levels. Procured through B Medical Systems, an expert in Health Tech based in Luxembourg, installation and training will ensure long-term durability and impact.
