Embassy in Vientiane
Over the past 30 years, the Lao PDR and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg have continuously deepened their partnership. In this endeavor, the expertise and financial resources of Luxembourg’s private and financial sector, and state-of-the-art products ''Made in Luxembourg'' have been leveraged for the benefit of the people of the Lao PDR, including in sectors such as finance, research and HealthTech.
The Embassy of Luxembourg in Laos stands ready to offer guidance for Luxembourgish companies who are interested in the Lao market and vice-versa. An example is the financial technology industry, and the regular participation of Lao FinTech companies in the Catapult seminars organized by the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT).
We also promote win-win partnerships between Luxembourgish private sector actors and Lao partners, for instance through instruments such as the Business Partnership Facility.
In the context of the Lao PDR’s graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status, and given Luxembourg’s position as a first-tier financial hub with a diverse and innovative finance ecosystem, especially in the areas of sustainable and inclusive finance, the Embassy will further support the promotion of green and innovative finance instruments, including green bonds listed at the Luxembourg Green Exchange, the world's first and leading platform dedicated exclusively to sustainable securities. We thereby harness Luxembourg’s financial sector expertise while supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and contributing to Laos’ Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
