During his visit to the Lao PDR, H.E. Patrick Hemmer, Ambassador, hosted a reception to celebrate the accession to the throne of HRH Grand Duke Guillaume with our compatriots, partners and members of the Lao government. He also met with H.E. Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to exchange about the close ties between Luxembourg and Laos. In Champassak province, he had a fruitful discussion with the Governor Alounxay Sounnalath, followed by a visit of the vocational training college currently being renovated by LuxDev - Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency, and had an exchange with students of the Faculty of Law and Administration and the leadership of the University.

The exchange focused on sustainable farming practices including: 🍃 Coffee & tea cultivation 🍓 Fruit trees, cocoa & strawberries 🏡 Greenhouse vegetable production 🌳 Agroforestry systems Farmers returned with plans to establish a nursery garden with 5,000 saplings using Village Development Funds.
