The event facilitated dialogue on the way forward for improving provider payment rates applied by health insurance schemes, which is essential to ensure the quality and inclusivity of services. The event was chaired by Her Excellency Mme Baykham Khattiya, the Minister of Health, and co-chaired by the Embassy of Luxembourg and the ILO Country Director. It brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, the Ministry of Finance, Central Hospitals, the Lao Federation of Trade Unions, the Lao National Council of Commerce and Industry, as well as development partners.
