Supported by the ROLAG Programme, financed by Luxembourg and implemented by LuxDev, the event focused on improving democratic accountability and access to justice. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Thoummaly VONGPHACHANH, President of the Justice Committee, and honored by the presence of Mrs. Sounthon XAYYACHAK, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Vice President of the National Assembly, and attended by over 120 representatives. The meeting reviewed the handling of 2,010 petitions over five years, with 1,355 accepted for resolution. Discussions led to twelve strategic priorities to enhance the petition system, including: - Strengthening the legal and policy framework and the effective implementation of the 2022 Law on Complaint Resolution; - Enhancing the ethical and technical capacities of petition-handling officials, including through integrity safeguards; - Improving coordination and monitoring mechanisms to ensure timely follow-up and institutional accountability.
