The Faculty of Environmental Sciences in Vientiane welcomed heads of mission and diplomats from the European Union, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, and Romania for a tree planting event, marking also an early start of the European Climate Diplomacy Week in Laos.
The Climate Diplomacy Week and related events build on the momentum of the Paris Agreement - the first-ever universal, legally binding global climate deal agreed in Paris in December 2015 and underlines the importance of maintaining its achievements. Luxembourg, the EU and other member states are leading by example through implementing our commitments on sustainable development and climate change and play a driving role in supporting partners in the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
