Minister of Planning and Investment Dr. Souphanh Keomixay yesterday received outgoing Chargé d’affaires of Luxembourg Mr. Claude Jentgen
Minister of Planning and Investment Dr. Souphanh Keomixay yesterday received outgoing Chargé d’affaires of Luxembourg Mr. Claude Jentgen for a a courtesy call at the end of his 5-year assignment. The Minister thanked the government and people of Luxembourg for their valuable assistance to the development process of Lao PDR and emphasized the strong relations between the two countries.
The scope of Luxembourg’s support has expanded in recent years and budgets have increased to 75 million euros for the current Indicative Development Cooperation Programme (ICP4) in support of the 8th National Socio-economic Development Plan. Beside the bilateral and multilateral programmes implemented among others by LuxDev - Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency and the United Nations in Lao PDR in the sectors of health, rural development, education and governance, an increasing number of Luxembourgish institutions and organisations such as the Luxembourg Institute of Health , Statec Luxembourg , the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance - Luxembourg , ILSTA , BBI-Hotel & Tourism Management , Caritas Luxembourg and others have developed direct partnerships with their Lao counterparts.
